It all started when...

1961...A child was born. And the world would never look the same...

(at least that is what I tell myself.)

I have been creating all types of unique products since the 1980's. I was heavily involved in the expanded bead foam molding business and created prototypes of what the final molded product would look like. I also built the wood patterns to cast the molds. I took over a small model shop when the owner retired, and started making wood patterns for other foundry products, and for vacuum form molds. I learned to vacuum form plastic to prove my molds, and started forming, welding and machining various typed of sheet plastic into functional parts for testing. The projects I loved the most is creating displays or props for trade shows and theater.

I always considered myself as more of an artist, than an engineer. I spent many years involved in film photography. To think that most people born in the last 5 to 10 years, will probably never get their picture taken with a film camera makes me want to hold on to the 'analog' ways we used to do things. I collected film cameras for many years because they are marvelous pieces of engineering. Obsolete, yes... but marvelous in my mind anyway. That's where the tinker-bots started. I would rather make something interesting out of that obsolete camera, than have it lost in a drawer for no-one to see or appreciate.
